Today I'm gonna be sharing with you guys my best tips on how to make a beautiful travel video. And I'm definitely not an expert. But these are all the things that I do to make the videos on youtube channels. So if you guys are interested in making one similar, these are the best tips that I can give you.

And by the way, these tips definitely apply to just any kind of artsy video and not just travel videos. With all that said, let's just get on into this video.

How To Make Travel Videos

1. Find Your Story

Tip number one is to find your story. And this is probably the most important tip in this entire article. It's so important that your video has a story. Just like a book, a video should have a beginning, a middle and an end to pull your viewer in and keep them engaged the entire time.

So first you have to decide what it is that you want to share with your audience. And then figure out how you can bring that idea to life through visual storytelling.

So basically what I mean by this if you watch my recent Vietnam video, you know that in the beginning, you saw shots of us getting ready on the bike, putting the helmet on and putting the key in the driving way.

So if you know what you want to share with your audience, you can be more purposeful in what you capture. And then once you get to editing, everything will make much more sense. You don't just want to go out there and film all these random things and then hope for the best once you get to editing, it's much easier if you figure out what it is you actually want to share. So your story is super important.

2. Equipment

Tip number two, determine what equipment you need to tell that story. So sometimes it's just a GoPro, sometimes it's just a point and shoot.

Sometimes a more sturdy DSLR or a drone can make a huge difference, but you really don't need a lot. It's really more about the way you use your camera than the actual camera itself. So for example, if you're going on a diving adventure, maybe a GoPro is plenty or if you are road tripping Iceland like I did in the fall, a drone can make all the difference.

So it really depends on what you're trying to capture. I will link what I use down below if you guys are curious. But, before we move on to the next tip, I figured I would mention a little bit about tripods and mounts because especially when you're traveling at tripods and mounts can be so helpful. I just have the basic Joby Gorilla Pod which you can just put anywhere and the legs are really flexible.

So you can mount it on pretty much everything. It's really, really useful. And I also have a few mounts for my GoPro but by far my favorite mount is my mouth mount, which is so weird, it looks super, super weird to use because you actually put it in your mouth kind of like a retainer, but against a first hand perspective, so you can kind of use your hands and do whatever so it's perfect for a motorcycle or if you just want to give a first hand perspective, I think it looks really trippy because when the viewer is watching it, they have no idea where the camera is.

One of my favorite tricks to do with the mouth mount is to record my shadow because you're like walking and you can't see the camera so it looks really really trippy. It's much more studying a head mount or a chest mount, especially when you're like riding a motorcycle or doing something more actually. But, when you are traveling tripods and mounts can be super useful.

3. Frame Your Shot

So while you're traveling, it may seem intuitive just to hold your camera in front of your face and record, whatever it is that's going on in front of you. But what separates a good video from a really beautiful interesting video is if you actually take the time to think about the composition of every shot.

For example, I don't know if you guys have noticed, but I really love to put my camera up close to the ground and record feet walking through the frame, or just getting leaves in the foreground. I think that's really, really beautiful and gives a different perspective. And there's just a lot of ways that you can capture unique angles to tell your story from different perspectives, but at the same time that you can't carefully plan every single shot, especially when you're traveling. Sometimes there's just going to be something really interesting in front of you and you just want to whip out your camera and record it and that's totally fine as well. It's good to have a bunch of zeros so that you have a lot to work with once you get to editing.

4. View Your Drone Like Your Camera

I know that not everybody has a drone, but I felt the need to put this one in here because I see it happens so often. So of course, drones are really fun to fly and you just want to sit them around and do all sorts of fun stuff with them. But when it comes to capturing usable footage, you really have to think about your drone in the same way that you think about your camera.

So still, you want to frame your shots, and most importantly, it records smooth shots with one continuous motion. Of course, you're going to need it to adjust your position and the gimbal in the air. But you don't want to include this in your video which I see so often. And it's such an easy fix. You just want to make sure that your shots are in one continuous smooth motion so that they can fit into your video seamlessly.

5. Record Sound

So chances are in your final video, you'll end up using music, but this doesn't mean that you should forget about recording nature sounds. So if you guys have noticed, I really love to keep in the back.

Actual sounds in the beginning of video, and then kind of fade into the music kind of to give it a more natural transition. And I think it just adds a really interesting component. But a little trick for you, if you're ever anywhere and the sound is really amazing, you can record the sound on your camera and then use that sound on top of a different clip.

For example, in the beginning of my Vietnam video, you hear all these nice jungle sounds, and birds chirping and whatever else you hear, I actually recorded that totally separate from the actual video clips that you see. So whenever I'm someplace and I feel like it just sounds really cool. I will record it and see if I can somehow incorporate it into my video.

So I think that's kind of like a personal preference thing, but I just think it's really interesting to include some natural sounds in conjunction with your music.

6. Choose The Right Music And Edit

Tip number six is to choose the right music and then edit accordingly. Music is everything. So don't rush on it. I feel like music actually takes me the longest portion of the editing process and it's starting to get really windy and it might rain, but that's okay. So sometimes I can spend hours and hours looking for the right song because the song can totally change the mood that you're trying to portray.

And it's really important that you pick something that really goes with the essence of your video. So there are some good resources, I definitely use epidemic sound quite a bit. But sometimes I just search on Sound cloud for hours until I find something that I vibe with. And then once you find a song that you really, really like, you can start editing with it. And it's really important that you edit on the beat. And I don't really know how exactly to explain this, but once you get the song, you can listen to it and figure out where you want to cut each shot. And then you want to cut them in a uniform manner. That makes sense.

7. Selective While You're Editing

So chances are if you just went on a trip, you will have so much footage, you don't even know what to do with it. But don't feel pressured to include every single shot. Only include shots that help push your story along.

I only took one film related class In college, and that was a screenwriting class. And my biggest takeaway from that class was you should only include scenes that really help push your story along. And if there is a shot that doesn't really do anything, you should just take it out because it will be much more streamlined without it.

So if you find that one shot doesn't really say a lot, take it out, and if nothing was lost, then it's probably better to leave it out.

8. Colour Correct And Grade

Okay, tip number eight is to colour correct and colour grade. So especially when you're traveling, you're going to be shooting in a bunch of different locations under different lighting. And once you get to editing, chances are a lot of your clips won't match. So this is when that colour correcting and colour grading can come in handy.

And honestly, I'm still learning this. It's definitely not the most simple thing and I've actually been taking a class on it which has really helped and thanks to Skill share who is sponsoring today's video, I've seriously learn so much more about colour grading and it really helped in my videos.

Honestly, their classes are really really good and they have so many to choose from from videography and photography to design pretty much anything and media arts related that you're interested in learning about, they have a class on and also sometimes I go back to the colour correcting class and just go to one chapter because I forgot about one certain thing.

And so, you can kind of jump around and get information on what you specifically need. And Skill share is offering the first 500 people to click the link down below a free trial so can't hurt to try it.

They also have some really good beginner classes for Adobe Premiere Pro, which is the editing program that I use, which can be super, super intimidating if you're just starting out on it, and they have like tons of beginner intro classes on that as well.

9. Stabilize Your Shots

Stabilize your shots, both in camera and while editing. So I personally don't own a stabilizer because they are pretty pricey. But if you have a stabilizer obviously that's a really great way to stabilize your shots. I personally just try to have the steadiest hands possible, which I feel like isn't that great of a tip, but your video will flow so much nicer if your shots are steady. But luckily, you can also stabilize while you're editing.

So I use a warp stabilizer on Adobe Premiere Pro. And it's like my best friend while I'm editing because it seriously makes such a big difference. I will show you guys an example of one shot not stabilized.

And then the other shot stabilized and you guys will see how big of a difference it makes. But, having stable shots can really make such a big difference in your video.

10. Keep It Real

And just to keep it real. There are so many super fun, awesome things you can do with editing, and sometimes really fancy transitions and all that stuff can really add to your video, but sometimes they can also take away from it.

So my last and final tip I will leave you guys with is just to try to think about how you can make your viewer feel like they're right there with you on your adventure and make them feel what you felt in those places.

So, with that this is going to conclude this article.

Hopefully these tips are helpful and if you guys create any videos with these tips are just any videos in general, send them to me and I will totally check them out.

Probably by bus is one of the cheapest ways to get around. Now how can you ensure that you are safe and comfortable during those trips? I'll teach you all that in today.

Tips Before You Travel By Bus

Hello guys, Today we're talking all about traveling by bus, a very unique form of transportation that for some reason, many people feel very intimidated about so before we get started, I'd like to remind you guys to please read carefully. It's free for you and uses the world for me so if I make you smile or make you want to travel or teach you something new in today's article, consider reading the full article.

If you are planning to travel by bus, here are some tips that you should definitely read carefully. All these tips I have learned from my experience and I am sharing the same with you.

Today I have eight tips.

1. Keep An Eye On Your Belonging

Let's start off with number one. Keep an eye on your belongings. It is very easy to get robbed when you're on a bus because it's stuck and goes, it's easy for someone to hop on some low life, take your bag and then get off that I stopped, and you had no idea.

So keep your bag near you connected to even if you could at all times, maybe wrap your backpack around your ankle, something like that, or store it below the bus. That way, you don't have to worry about getting stolen.

2. Bring Snacks

number two bring snacks. Some buses are very sophisticated and have kind of like flight attendants on there that serve you food. But that is very rare. I've only seen it a few times in South America, and not really anywhere else. Oh, a couple times in Mexico actually. But don't count on that.

Okay, bring snacks that you're going to enjoy. Because maybe this bus isn't gonna stop at all on the way to your destination. You don't want to be hungry, bring something you'll love, bring you some water and make it kind of an enjoyable experience. You know, there's no limit to the sizes of things you can bring. TSA isn't going to stop you. So bring whatever you want.

3. Bring An Eye Mask And Earplugs

Number three, bring an eye mask and earplugs. It can be very loud on the bus people are talking.

If you want to get some shut eye it's important that you don't hear all that I don't know about you guys. I can't sleep when people are talking and also an eye mask because sometimes the lights will be on while the bus is going. So you want to make sure you get some shuteye.

4. Wear Layers

Number four wear layers, some buses or freakishly cold I will never forget the most miserable experience. It was like a 12 hour bus ride and chalet and I didn't break food. So I was starving. And I was shivering to death on that bus. Just thinking when is this thing going to stop? When can I get off because I'm so cold the IRS was just on blast so we're layers Don't be like me. learn from my mistakes.

5. Wifi

Number five connects to WiFi and gets some work done. A lot of buses these days including Greyhound in the USA have Wi Fi which I think is phenomenal. no extra cost usually. So you can connect your devices. Also look for those little plugs in the bus. Bring your charger with you in your back so you can keep your phone charged. A lot of buses have plugs these days.

6. Splurge For First Class

Number six splurge for first class. Unlike flying on an airplane, first class isn't completely unattainable. Like in Chile, for example, it was just maybe like 10 or 20 bucks more, and it was worth it because the seats go all the way back and you're able to relax and there's like a movie playing and like, they call you sir or madam and it's just like, you feel like somebody you feel important. So it's kind of worth it. If you're doing especially an overnight trip, or you want to be comfortable. You had like these nice armrests, and like extra cup holders, it was luxurious, so feel free to splurge on that.

7. Sit Middle Of The Bus

Number seven sit in the middle of the bus in the back and the front is a lot more Rocky. In the middle. It's the perfect medium. And speaking of which, it's actually safer to sit in the middle of a bus because if you get in an accident, it's less likely you're gonna die.

8. Go To The Bathroom Before Boarding The Bus

And lastly, number eight go to the bathroom before boarding the bus. Another mistake I've made time and time again, it is common for buses to have bathrooms that are either disgusting, questionable, or just completely don't work. So I don't know about you. I don't want to use the best bathroom. And if I did, it might not even work. So use the bathroom ahead of time so you avoid the water.

Bonus Tip

You should keep a camera with you so that you do not get bored while traveling by bus, because when you see a beautiful view outside the bus, you can capture it and store it.

In addition, you should keep a travel notebook in which you can record your personal experience such as what you see, what you did during the trip and what your next plans are.

Also during the trip you can meet different people and also make friends which will grow your network.

Those are our tips.

If you want to travel by bus, you feel a little worried and need to be careful. But traveling by bus is an opportunity to enjoy nature and relax.

The bus is a great travel option at a low cost. If you want to travel at low cost then this option is right for you. I happily travel by bus and follow the tips above which makes my experience even better. So follow these tips and make your journey happy.

Hope you guys liked it so long, travel well and make the world your neighborhood.
Today we're gonna go over some tips for new travelers.

Tips For New Travelers

So this is for anybody who hasn't traveled yet, but you're about to start. Or maybe you've only traveled to one or two places, maybe when you were younger, and you want to get into traveling more.

So I'm just going to go over a few things off the top of my head.

So the first thing is do your research, but leave things open. You want to research where you're going, how long you should go, the costs, the food, the culture, everything about the place, but you don't want to research too much. You want to leave something open to discover. If you spend all your time researching and you find out everything there is to know about the place then it's a little less appealing once you get there.

You want to get there knowing enough, but you want to be able to find new things. learn new things when you're there that you really didn't know until you get there. Don't listen to what your parents say. Do Listen to season travelers, your parents have good intentions, they want to keep you safe. They want you probably to go to the safest places that you can if you're traveling sometimes that takes out some of the adventure, some of the experience some of the things that you really want to discover out there that not everyone has discovered yet what you should do instead of listening to them, telling you that some places are more dangerous than others that you should go here, not there. Instead, go to YouTube, go to the travel vloggers that have been to many places.

Most of the time you'll find that season travelers don't think the world is as dangerous of a place as people that don't travel that often. The more I travel the more I see this, the more I think this myself and I have had no troubles traveling all over the world, have an open mind and try new things. This comes to meeting new people and trying new foods. I was always a really picky eater when I was growing up and it took me a little bit of traveling to kind of get out of that. And they were like fish or any type of seafood. But when I travel, I really want to try the local dishes and a lot of times seafood that's a part of it.

So I've grown to be okay with seafood. I still don't really like it. But, but I'm getting there. You don't want to miss out on some of the best dishes because you've the same goes for street food. People at home might tell you that street food is dangerous and that you're going to get sick from it. But a lot of countries that you go to street food is a big part of their culture and their cuisine and you need to try it have an open mind when it comes to different cultures what they where you want to be a part of it if you can, you know, it's better to be a part of it and live like locals do talk to the locals instead of just being a tourist, doing the touristy things.

If you have Facebook, which I'm guessing you do. You should join travel groups. These are free, go to facebook and join all join groups about travel, if you know where you're going, look up that country, see if there's specific ones to that. But just general travel groups where you can meet like minded travelers or people that haven't traveled yet, and you can ask any questions there.

You can get some inspiration there, get some help maybe even meet some travel buddies, you can travel solo, and you should, if you're really wanting to travel, and you have nobody that can go with you, or somebody just opted out at the last minute, they said that they would go with you, you can still do it, and you should.

Solo travel is some of the best travel that I've ever done. You learn a lot that way you grow, you meet a lot more people when you're traveling solo before you go anywhere new, where they speak a different language, you should learn the basics of that language. At least learn Hello, goodbye. Thank you. You're welcome. Bathroom beer, and maybe left and right. It won't take you long. You can even write these things down. But if you go over it for a few days before your trip, you'll probably learn these things. And it can really help you get by and the locals really appreciate it.

The next thing is the pack light, it makes the trip much easier if you pack light, you really don't need a lot of stuff when you travel. And if you have extra space in your bag, that's where you can put your souvenirs and maybe new clothing that you bought while you were there. If you're backpacking, you don't want all that weight on you. And even if you have a suitcase you don't want to have a huge suitcase. I always pack just to carry on size no matter how long I'm traveling, whether it's for a month or a year, I still have the same 40 to 50 liter pack.

The next thing is get inspiration from YouTubers, like myself from travel bloggers from Instagram, you can really get some inspiration and see where you want to go from places like Instagram.

The next thing Know what to pack by watching packing videos on YouTube. I have a few you can watch. But there are a ton out there. And packing is kind of an art and you learn it as you go along. Learn from the people who have done it already before you know that you can travel with a little bit of money. You can travel on a budget, no matter where you are. You just have to do the research. You can travel to a cheaper country where you can travel on a budget, or there are always budget options for food accommodation for everything. They're also free options these days.

You can get apps and go to websites where there's free accommodation like couchsurfing trusted house sitters you can get cheaper deals with Airbnb travel for as long as you can. I have never met a person while I was traveling that said that they had too much time and they wanted to go back early. Everyone just seems to always wish they had more time or they add more time and they just don't go back home after a couple months and they have Traveling a year or two years. So if you think a couple weeks will be too long and you'll miss home or a month will be too long.

Think again, most likely, you're going to want more time there. So try to extend your trip as much as you think you can, based on your budget pick somewhere completely different from where you grew up. So I see a lot of times I have friends that have never traveled anywhere, and they want to travel outside of the country, like Australia or England for the first time. Those are both English speaking countries. So the people are very similar. I understand that it's a little bit easier, possibly because there's no language barrier to travel to those places for your first time.

But I think you should have more of an adventure and more of an experience. And even if it's your first time traveling somewhere new somewhere completely different.

Traveling is safer than people think. For a lot of people that haven't traveled much they think beware of pickpockets. You hear the negative stuff you hear about the terrorist attacks, you hear about pickpockets. You hear about muggings and those types of things. But I have seen and I have witnessed and I've met a lot of people, and those things are really rare.

They're just things that make the news and things that people who love you warn you about, but they really don't happen that often.
Today I want to help you pick out your travel backpack. So for me picking out a backpack has always been a lot of fun. I like to spend countless hours researching, looking online, going to all the stores and just trying out all of these backpacks.

How To Choose Backpack

But I'm kind of weird that way. And so I'm here to help you. I'm going to tell you the different things that you want to look for in a travel backpack.

And then I'm going to show you my three favorites after five years of backpacking.

So glad you're here with me during this really exciting part for you to travel, because I want to help you out with this.

Alright, so the main things that you want to think about are size, features, price, comfort, security and quality.

So I'm going to go over that in these three bags, these three bags that I love so much, and let's do it.

Which things you should check before buying a travel bag

Size

This is the main thing as a backpacker, you're going to want something that's comfortable on your back, something that you can carry around with you for extended periods of time. But also you want to be able to carry it on to the airplane. So typically, you're going to want something around 40 liters to carry on where they won't ask any questions. This is the nomadic bag like this is 40 liters Exactly. This one is the motherlode and this one is actually 45 plus 10, or 15. So what that means is, you can unzip this and expand it to add more leaders so that way you have a smaller bag when you're going to get on the flights and you need to carry on but then if you get extra souvenirs or you really pack your bag, by the time you're going to go home, then you can just unzip that and make it bigger. All my bags that my travel gear is going to be linked below if you want to check any of that out. So then this Red Wing 5050 is about as big as I want to go. If I want to try to carry a bag on.

Extra Features (Bonus)

So next is the extra featured. So this is just the extra bells and whistles that might be on some of these bags. Not all of them are going to have it. Some of them are very basic, but things like this, like the nomadic here has a shoe compartment at the bottom, which is one of my favorite parts of this bag. So you open it up and you can put your shoes in there to keep them separate from your clothes. And then this one has the zipper where you can expand it and get more out of it. The back is also very comfortable. It has this mesh padding and everything. So just these extra features that you want to look out for.

Comfort

Alright, so the next really important thing is the comfort of the bag. You want it to be comfortable. And you don't just want it to be comfortable wallets on your back. I mean that's a given, but also for getting things out and putting things in. So the backpacks that I always get are always front loading.

So that means that you don't Just open it up from the top, like most backpacks 99% of backpacks will be this way where you have to open it just from the top and you have to reach down and grab your stuff at the bottom, you pull everything out, put it all over the room and that just, I will never do that. Again, I will only travel with a front loading backpack, which means it opens fully or almost fully like a suitcase. And that just makes everything easier. It makes your travel way more comfortable. And obviously the second part is how comfortable it is on your back. So the coat the Red Wing here, as you can see, has amazing comfort at the back. So you have all of this padding you have this mesh so the air can pass through behind in your sweat everywhere. And you'll see in these other bags that they don't have all that emotional padding so it's not as comfortable in the back. It's just like a school backpack might be but that's totally fine for most people. I actually travel with this nomadic now and it's totally If you want your bag to be comfortable enough so you can have it on your back while you're going through the airport and you're just dying to take it off your back. Some people I see get a huge bag that's way too heavy, or they just don't get the right bag for their body and they take it off every second that they get and that's just very annoying and that doesn't lead to a comfortable travel experience.

Security

Alright security, this is not a huge thing but it's a nice added bonus if you get some of this for peace of mind. So for the nomadic, I love this feature. If you open this pocket here, you have an RFID safe pocket so you can put your credit cards in there and they'll be safe. I put my credit cards in here I put my passport in here I put all of my documents and things in here and then you can lock it up with these two zippers here. Or you have a bag like this mother lode where if you look close here, it has these heavy duty zippers and you can put a lock through all of these zippers, another secure part of this nomadic bag is that see, you actually wear it like this, and you can open it up from the back, you don't open it up from front or from the sides. So it can't be opened by other people while you're walking around, you have to actually take it off to get to the back.

Quality

Alright, next is quality. Quality is kind of obvious. You want to have good materials, you might have waterproof materials, like this bag. And heavy duty zippers like this. This one, the Red Wing, it's by kelty which is a known brand they've been known and tested for years. And this whole thing is just really good quality, especially look at the back here, all the materials they use in that. So you just want to make sure that your bag isn't gonna fall apart. And if you spend less than say around hundred dollars on a bag. If you get the $50, the $30 ones, they're probably gonna break on you at some point.

Style

All right, one thing I forgot to mention is style. Of course, this shouldn't matter too much to most of you, but a sleek design, minimal design is nice. It's just nice to have. So you don't have all of these straps and all these things coming off. And if you could get something that's black or gray or brown or something that's not going to stand out so much. If you get a red or a neon yellow bag, you stand out a lot as a tourist. If you wear something like this, you look more like you're just wearing a backpack and so your bag isn't gonna be targeted so much, especially when you put it at the bottom of buses. And you just have a bag that doesn't stand out from the crowd, it's less likely to get stolen. Not that's really a problem that does happen. It's never happened to me, but I do use bags that don't stand out.

Price

So all right price is self explanatory. I mean, you don't want something that's going to cost a ton. But there is kind of a minimum, like I just said, you don't want to go below $100 for a backpack, or you're probably gonna need to get a new one soon. This mother lode right now it's around $100 it's usually somewhere around 100. So that's a pretty good price point kelty redwing. This is typically around 150, which is probably the average for backpacks like this. But this is a really great bag and this one is my favorite of all bags that I've ever had.

Alright, so those are the seven things that you want to check out when you're looking for a backpack.
Today I am going to show you travel outfits in summer for females.

Travel Outfits In Summer For Womens

Now that we can fly again these travel outfit ideas will help you when you are ready to pack a suitcase again for my clothes that I'm going to wear on the airplane, I want loose casual outfits. I know many of you like an elastic waistband so that you can eat the local food where you are touring.

You can still feel confident and cute. And then you can also be an efficient packer if you want a travel wardrobe that can mix and match with all kinds of activities you might be doing on your summer vacation.

Now I'm over 40 and I choose outfits based on my body type, my tummy is my problem area so I choose outfits third going to skim that area or hide that area in a certain way but I'm giving you a list of travel outfits for your personality, your body type and your casual summer style. stick around to the end for a quick little vacation travel tip I have for you.

Many of you are jumping on the jumpsuit trend for a travel outfit. I recommend to not ever wear a jumpsuit on the airplane save that jumpsuit for your vacation outfit inside the airplane lavatory. There are bodily fluids like urine throw up that are lingering on the surfaces. When you have to take off a jumpsuit completely to use the bathroom that is going to rub against other people's mistakes.

A great alternative to a jumpsuit travel outfit is a two piece outfit. A lot of joggers look like pants but they actually feel like sweatpants a little bit. And if you choose a pair of black joggers and tuck in a black tank with it or a cute striped shirt with it. It looks like an outfit especially if you wear it with some Canvas tight shoes. You have an outfit that can be used inside the airplane and you can use those pieces to mix and match while you're on vacation. It's hard to protect your outfit from other passengers' mistakes Another two piece outfit is a pair of denim capris and a top.

You can use a colored denim Capri just search for two piece outfits in certain stores like Chico's they are the queen of two piece travel outfits.

I've even found some on Amazon. She goes not just for older women anymore. They have a great line of linen blend pants. If you like that loose flowy comfortable waistband type of bottoms for your travel outfits. That's a great idea. Look how great this pinstripe pair looks beside this navy blue top with a bright pop of turquoise you can easily copy that by buying an inexpensive solid navy blue or bright red t shirt when my mother in law packed for a river cruise she packed a red top a black top and white top and then mix and match those with several pants Chico's also has a pair of linen blend shorts that are not too long. For some tall people they would be great for shorter people as well.

Now I'm five, eight, and wide legged loose pants like that are not flattering for my body type. I prefer a skinnier bottom and a looser top. My goal is for you to think for yourself. I'm going to teach you how to fish so that you can eat for life. I'm sharing these outfit ideas but you look in your closet. You copy the exact links for me and have it fit your personality and your lifestyle. This travel dress from Amazon looks great for travel. You can wear it with sneakers. You can wear it with sandals with higher heels although high heel shoes are usually a unit Tasker they cannot be mixed and matched. Usually I would go more with a flip flop oh I meant to tell you I just put out a travel shoe article so if you want some help on seeing styles and all the awesome comments of other people's favorite shoes, I will link that for you.

What I wanted to say about Amazon is they have gotten so much better With their wardrobe reviews on their site, so scroll all the way down to the bottom and you can see reviews, a lot of them have real people's video in the mirror of how it actually looks on person you are ready to celebrate by going on vacation.

Again, you can travel and be with friends and family. But don't forget to not wear something with a sequence like I did on Christmas Day. I had a pocket full of sequence and was not even thinking I also found this white Tommy Bahama top that is so cute and not see through a key to a summer travel outfit piece. But it has a sequence all along the V neck. So don't forget to look at that if you are shopping and the only thing that's going to happen is you're going to be pulled out of the TSA line so that they can inspect that area where the sequence is and it's just going to hold you up for a few minutes. You can see my travel outfits from our trip to the Grand Canyon this summer. I had two pairs of shorts that went matched with all three of those t shirts.

So I have six outfits now for a four day trip. Navy is a great color scheme for summer because it matches with so many bright and muted colors. If you need a visual to help you think of what outfits that will be good for your vacation.

I'm five, eight, and I do like five inch long shorts any longer than that are not flattering on me. Nor is a three inch pair of shorts. I don't remember if I said this back when I was talking about Chico's but jgl has a cute cute pair of linen blend shorts that don't seem too long. I think six inches is a great size for women. When I'm choosing shorts, I make sure that that waistband is comfortable. It either needs to be lower, or it can be high waist but don't feel like you have to wear a high waisted pair of shorts. If they are not comfortable.

Sometimes they're thinner and they're a little more painful. When you're trying to have fun on your vacation, I have four pairs of these there the supplies brand and I think that is in JC Penney's, but I got my four pair from Nordstrom Rack but they are all sold out but when you were looking for shorts, a great search item is stretch twill or stretch fabric. You probably already know the style of shorts that are most flattering on your body type. I want you to take a picture of you in your shorts, prop it up against the lamp in a room and then see which size or length of shorts are more flattering to you. Then I want you to choose a really cozy top that you feel super confident in. tuck it in halfway like maybe behind the little button, pull it out, try a more fitted top.

Try a loose square cut top and see which ones are which styles match your body type. I want to feel cute but I also want to be confident and tuberc comfortable. That is a plus. Like I tried on this dress from Ann Taylor loft. It is so cute but it's just a little bit short. If I don't love it, I don't even want to spend $1 on it. Even though they're having a great sale right now and especially this nautical style is so cute for travel. It comes to my knees just so you know I am a huge fan of graphic tees. Those are t-shirts that have writing on them or pictures. They go with pattern shorts, especially a gray t-shirt with words on it. We get this just already just so cute. It's pulled together but you're wearing a t-shirt. You're not wearing your grubby t-shirt, but it's just a cute way to be comfortable and still cute. Little Happy glamper shirt. Amazon has a ton of graphic tees. This is from the J crew. I love any kind of theme t shirt especially when I talked about food the new food roll on the airplanes I wore this T shirt just don't know if anybody noticed that and now I'm talking about vacation and so I'm wearing a vacation t shirt, like see how the pattern shorts would go so good with little graphic T, I just love it and they can be matched. Like all these colors can go with white, they could probably go with Navy thinking some go with a pattern short.

And one thing you can do to save space is wear a pattern short that you're really comfortable in. These are all older shorts, by the way, but find a pattern pair of shorts and then dress it up with a really cute top and sandals and there you have a nice outfit for a restaurant, a decent restaurant. These new elephant shorts from Ann Taylor loft are great. Now they're a little bit short for me but it's a graphic short. That would look great with bright red, bright blue, white, even gray, even black like a turquoise top like you can just mix and match. As long as you are using your creativity and just yeah, I'm getting excited. the loft is also really good about having those two pieces of metal clasps along with the button around the waist so you have a little extra power holding your tummy in and just holding you up to have good posture.

While we've been quarantined I have worn my exercise shirt with the nicer shorts that I have had on during the day and my pair of tennis shoes and I am totally fine taking a walk after dinner like that.

But I can also use those pattern shorts with a nicer t-shirt or with a solid top and look a little more pulled together. If you find a perfect pair of denim shorts that is like trying to find the best bathing suit. Take that because that can be worn with every color and pattern and they don't feel like they're dirty after a few times of wearing them.

I love the tie dye trend right now Amazon has some that I will link for you. I have this bright pink one. Got from a boutique in Georgia jgl has a really muted subdued tie dye if that's more of your style that I'll link. Army green is a great color for a bottom piece of a travel wardrobe that can go with bright colors with muted colors with graphic t-shirts. I almost bought this pair of joggers from athleta.

The fabric is that modelle fabric it does not wrinkle while you're on vacation, or you can scrunch it up and hold it and it does not wrinkle. And then they also have that little gathered bottom at the bottom of the pants that make it look more like joggers, but I just didn't need it. So I didn't get those but those are a great alternative. They're almost like khakis. It's like a stiffer material, but it's not heavy.

One travel tip I have for you is to add hangout clothes for the Hangout time after coffee and before you decide where you're going for the day or after you've changed out of your bathing suit and you're just vegging on the sofa for a little while.

This was my Purchase over the quarantine time from the loft. I absolutely love it actually it was right when we were finishing the quarantine time here in Houston.

It is long enough for my five eight buddies. It would go great with a graphic t so I'm hoping to pair that with a T shirt later on in the fall and some boots, cowboy boots, maybe I love skirts and dresses because they can mix and match to and make you feel a little girly. Just save them for your destination. You don't want to have to worry about how you're sitting on the airplane seat or sweating and all that stuff. I am a huge fan of sports as well as long as the fabric around your legs are comfortable and this is from last year and they have come back more this year at Walmart.

The shorts are like boys basketball shorts. I mean they are so comfortable. They're like a set second skin. They do not cling to your body. There's no elastic like attaching to your skin. They are very comfortable. And they come in denim and then blue and then even gray.

Now a gray bottom, especially like gray denim jeans or capris. That's a great travel outfit piece because gray goes with almost everything. And it's not your normal predictable denim capris. I really like this loose teal colored tank from Chico's. I think it's loose so that you can blouse it up when you tuck it in. So it's not clinging to any body part that you don't want it to cling to. But it also will make some match with several other colors. Are you tired of me saying mix a match yet? I am trying to help you. I'm a pilot wife here in Houston and I'm sharing YouTube travel tips over my 18 years of being a pilot wife.

So take it or leave it but I hope I'm really helping you here. I do pack white shorts or white capris, sometimes but definitely white shorts for when I'm at my vacation spot, never on the airplane. And I will also like what I said to save dresses for my vacation spot. If you have not watched my what not to wear on the airplane but the examples that I give for what not to wear inside the airplane, not on your vacation, but inside the airplane, they are brilliant and I bet you have not thought of all the things that I hope you think of in that article so be sure to check that out. Michael Kors knows a woman's body. He was my favorite judge on Project Runway when we would have girls night every week to watch that. I love these ruffles that he has on this new dress is a little short for me to feel really comfortable and confident in but it's so cute if you're shorter.

There are also dresses in the loft that are absolutely adorable. They also have at loft a jumpsuit. It's such a fun pattern and that bright green teal, isn't green to you or teal green, but it has to be unzipped from the top all the way down to the bottom so you are going to need a friend to help you unzip that and zip it up so I recommend not wearing it on the airplane. Since my husband works For an airline we have to follow strict dress codes inside the airplane so you'll never see me wearing leggings and I like a cute t-shirt or anything like that. And that style is not flattering on me.

Okay, I thought of this travel tip when we went to see the Pioneer Woman mercantile in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, I had my travel outfit for the airplane. And then when I landed inside my weekender bag that I went with that time I had my packing cube and I had a whole other outfit because I knew it was going to be 90 degrees there. So I wanted to put on shorts and a different pair of sandals and a new top to wear. So that is something that you can pack in your personal item bag inside your packing cube and stand it up.

That's another thing I found out: if you stand up your packing cube inside your personal item bag, you have more space in that bag. I started off when we flew to La Huska. I had the packing cube horizontal on the bottom, and I didn't have as much space when I turned it vertically. I had all this space left in my weekender bag.

So that's another travel tip for you. I know you all have a variation of a summer style that you like. We are very different, I'm sure but that's what makes life beautiful. It's what makes fashion beautiful.

Some people like fashion to be practical, some like it to be cute. So however you want to wear your summer travel outfits.

I hope that this list has helped you be creative and come up with some of your own.
Today I am going to show you how I can afford to travel so much.

How To Afford To Travel

And today we're gonna go over a question that I am asked constantly, probably more so than any other question. And that's how the hell do I afford to travel so much.

Now let's get into it. So people have been asking me a lot lately, because I've spent a lot of time in Europe, a lot of time in Southeast Asia. And lately, I've been on a road trip around the United States.

And people always want to know, how do I afford to do this?

Well, it's a combination of a ton of things.

Youtube

So first of all these days, you can make money on YouTube. The income from YouTube has taken a while to get up there, but it's really starting to take off a bit. It's starting to help with my travels a bit more. I didn't start until about a year ago and it's really taken until up until this point to really get anywhere with it as far as earning money to travel, but that is the first way.

Adsense

So it's AdSense from YouTube videos, it's basically the ads that play before, during and sometimes after the videos, YouTube gives you a cut of the revenue that they make off of those ads that play over your videos. So the creator gets a cut and YouTube gets a cut.

Amazon Affiliate

And the next thing kind of similar to that is affiliate links. So, for me, mostly, it's the Amazon affiliate program. So if you go down in the description below in the YouTube videos, you'll see a bunch of links from Amazon. And when somebody who views your YouTube video goes to your links to see your camera or see some of your travel gear and they go to Amazon and buy something. You get a very small commission of that at no cost to the viewer or the person who clicked the links. The best part about that is the viewer or the person who clicked the links, they can buy anything on Amazon, anything that's completely unrelated to your video, and to the link that they first clicked. Amazon just wants to give you back a little bit for sending them to Amazon to buy anything. I actually haven't checked it for several months, but it was consistently getting me around 20 to $50 for the last few months.

Patreon

Okay, so the next thing is kind of a new thing. It's Patreon. Patreon is basically a website where your viewers can go to give a little back to you for creating free content. So for someone on YouTube, like me, people go to patreon and they and you can give $1 or $5 or something like that per month and in exchange the creator gives something back to the viewer. In my case it's postcards and Since I'm an artist, paintings, drawings, that kind of thing, but it can really be anything. So Patreon is just a nice little extra monthly income that you can get on top of those other ways.

Save Money

So the next thing is basically, saving money is like making money. I travel on a very strict budget, and I don't spend that much money while I travel. People think that I'm just on this luxurious vacation all the time, but it's not like that i i like to do everything as cheap as I can so that I can travel longer. For me, it's not the expensive vacations that I really liked. Doing all the activities, staying in a luxury resort and those types of things. I like to live the lifestyle of travel and travel slowly and cheaply and meet people along the way by traveling on a budget. I'm able to stretch my dollar a lot further when a lot of people spend several thousand dollars in a week. To vacation. I spend the same amount over five or six months.

Couchsurfing

And one of the ways I do this is by using free services like couchsurfing. couchsurfing has been amazing. It's one of the best things that you can join. It's basically you stay with people for free. You stay on their couch. And in exchange, it's kind of a cultural exchange where you become friends with the person you share your culture, they share their culture and they give you a place to stay because they want to meet someone new someone from a different place. They want to make a new friend and it's just a nice thing to do.

Sometimes travelers will do it to give back because a traveler will stay on somebody else's couch and then when they get back home, they will in turn host other people and give a little bit back to the couchsurfing community. I've had amazing experiences with this. I've been doing it for a few years now I did all over Europe and had just great experiences and it saved Be a ton of money. That's not the main reason I do it for the money. Why I do this is because I love meeting new people. But if you're traveling on a budget, it is definitely a great thing to save you time so you don't have to buy. So you don't have to stay at hostels and hotels and pay for those every single night.

Trusted Housesitters

And along those lines of couchsurfing is trusted house sitters. This is basically a website where you have to sit for somebody usually it's to take care of their pets or something like that while they're traveling. And this will just be great if something like couchsurfing isn't your thing because you don't want to stay with other people. If you would like to have your own place still as if you were in a hotel. Trusted house sitters are great because you get the place to yourself. Now this one does cost a little bit to join, I believe it's around $100 to join.

Do Your Reasearch
Okay, and the next thing is just to do your research. Do your research on the places that you're going, the countries how they work on flights. If you do your research on flights ahead of time, you can definitely save a lot of money.

Book Ahead

If you book hotels and hostels ahead of time, you can also save money. I like to travel in the offseason or the shoulder season because everything is cheaper flights, hotels, everything.

So if you can swing it don't travel during the summer months, travel during winter or fall. And don't travel around the holidays because that's when it spikes up again.

Make Money Own Hours

The main thing that I've done for the last couple years before I was doing YouTube, is I would get a job where I can make my own hours.

So this has been easy in a place like San Francisco where there's constantly new startups, new businesses starting all the time, and you can easily join them because they need people. It's the companies like Uber, doordash, instacart those types of companies, if you join them, which is usually pretty easy to apply, you just work 10 hours, 11 to 12 hour days, and just work constantly for a few months.

If you work a ton for a few months, you'll be able to save enough money or that if you travel in a cheaper country, and your dollar is going really far already, you're going to be able to stay there longer.

So basically all work very hard for two to three months. And then from those savings, I'll be able to travel in a cheap country for five or six months, sometimes even longer.

So that's really it between doing my research and getting cheap flights, making a little bit of money on the road through YouTube and different things along those lines by traveling on a budget and staying places for free. I've been able to travel cheaply all over the world. Is there anything that I didn't mention that you've done to travel cheaper?
Backpacking Tips For Girls Traveling Alone

Today I want to talk about backpacking and traveling alone and tips and tricks you can do to improve your travels, especially as a girl alone because that can be pretty. And I don't think it's scary, but I think it can be pretty and scary for parents probably.

So it's good to have to follow some rules and guidelines to make sure that you will be safe. When I finished high school.

I started backpacking right away, I went to New Zealand by myself, travelled around there for a couple of months and I went to Australia and later the Philippines. To be honest, I didn't plan at all, I didn't watch this kind of YouTube video and didn't read any articles about tips for a girl traveling alone, which I probably should have done.

And so I'm going to tell you my tips and you can learn from my mistakes. Are you tired of school, and I just wanted to get out of a booked trip to New Zealand all by myself three days later, I just went away, didn't know where I was going, what I was going to do there. I didn't book any places to stay on any buses or flights or anything except that one way ticket to New Zealand, which I think is a great way of traveling, I wouldn't have experienced everything I have experienced if I didn't do it that way.

And it's a great way of just going with the flow and letting great things happen. But you should take care and here are some of my tips. So a lot of different hospitals around the world have rooms only for girls so you can actually and book you can choose if you want to stay with five people or two people or something like that, and you can choose if you want to have mixed male and female or just girls. I didn't. I don't know. I just always took the mixed thing and which I learned later. not such a good idea.

Another tip is also to ask when you go to the hotel to book your nights to ask if you can go and see the room if you want to stay away guys and girls, just to see what kind of people you're going to stay with for a few days because you don't know these people they are from all over.

Some of them are pretty weird people. I was in Australia and I stayed at this horrible hostel. I didn't check it beforehand. I just booked like for five nights or something. And I figured out I was sharing it as a five person room. I thought it was going to limit a lot of people. I don't think that's better than just being with one person. Turns out there was only one guy in there he was like 40 late in the late 30s. He has stayed there for like one year really freaky guy. So that was very uncomfortable. I just spent my entire day out and only got back at night where I went to sleep one night when I stayed there. He woke me up in the middle of the night and said he wanted a cut off.

So it ended up with me sleeping on the beach by myself. not such a good idea. So I recommend staying in an all girls room, or at least checking out what kind of room you're getting before you actually pay for it. I was insanely lucky on my travels. It seems like I'm pretty naive. I'm actually not, it's just I'm always alert but I choose to think the best of people. I don't know what I was thinking but I always didn't. I just want to believe in the best in strangers. So I left like my MacBook on my bed when I went out. I didn't have a locker for my backpack. I sometimes even left my passport just in the bed and headed out when I was sharing a boom with five other people. Everyone else I was staying with has a mess along my travels that I have either lost like a passport, phone, their MacBook, just jewelry and a lot of stuff. I didn't lose one thing, not one thing I've stolen from me.

So I would recommend having a locker for your backpack or suitcase. But I would also have copies of it in your purse and wallet and in your suitcase or backpack.

Just because that's the most important thing you got with you on your travels. Maybe when you are out backpacking you want to go to bars and clubs and all of that I wasn't so into that, but maybe you are and then I want you to take care if you know you're gonna have to find a way home by yourself if you have to walk or take a cab, don't get drunk. This is just a vt idiotic people take advantage of young pretty girls traveling by themselves that are drunk at night Home Alone walking. No, just don't put yourself in that situation.

It can turn out really bad and you're gonna regret it forever. I'm really lucky. Nothing like that has ever happened to me, but just take care.

Get friends with someone in your hostel or something that you can walk with home, get some girlfriends that you can sleep over at their place or something like that.

Another thing that I would recommend if you're traveling alone is to tell people where you're heading next. I didn't know one single person on an entire continent when I first got there. And I knew it would be hard to update everyone at home all the time and tell the same stories over and over again and all of that. So what I did was, I started a blog and I always told them where I was going and what I was doing well, if something were to happen, people would know where I was at least.

Another important thing that you should do is to have all your important documents on your mail so you can access it from any computer if you get lost or if you lose your computer or whatever. So you've got your travel documents and your passport and insurance and all of those things that you may need.

A little tip is to wear a wedding ring. It sounds weird, but if you don't want that much attention when I was out to travel, it was actually for myself. I wanted to find myself and explore the world and I wanted to see beautiful places and I read books and took photography and focused more on myself and to meet other people. Of course, I met people that I am so happy that I met, but that wasn't the main focus when I traveled. So to have a fake wedding ring or an engagement ring is actually a good tip because you don't get unwanted attention. Unless you go out to find a partner. They don't do it for girls or guys if you like yen, shaving and stuff.

And the showers at hostels, not so nice, pretty disgusting. So if you want to spend less time in those showers, I would recommend waxing everything you want to wax before you leave.

At least the first month, you don't have to spend a lot of time in the shower shaving, you don't need to worry about that.

So just a little tip.

Also, you probably want to listen to music when you go out. Please have one of the earplugs out or have the music close, you can actually pay attention to what's happening around you. If you're in a country or a neighborhood that is pretty dangerous, sketchy, you should be alert. What's happening around you, a tip if you're going home from somewhere when it's late, is to take a photo of the cat number before you get in the cab to track the cab on Google Maps to see if you're heading in the right direction.

And third, to pretend like you're calling someone and tell them I'm going to be there soon see you in a bit. Or actually do that just to let the taxi driver know that someone's going to meet you there and guys saying no. If you don't want something if someone offers to carry your bags or and they have room for you or whatever you feel it's kind of something is off about it. Don't say yes, because you're shy or you don't know how to say no, just say no, it's totally fine and don't care about, you're never going to see that person.

Again, I believe you should always try to see the nice side of people when you're out, especially when traveling so you get new friends. They can actually meet people that can take you different places and teach your stuff that you didn't know about the country. That's the most amazing thing about traveling. But always be alert.

Every last tip is to have fun and enjoy and look around and just appreciate the fact that you are able to travel that you have the opportunity to go and travel very few people actually have that opportunity.

So if you can travel the world, be grateful for that and take that opportunity and do it see different countries and try new food and meet people and find yourself on the way always sounds cheesy. I know you probably have one of those friends that was out traveling and come back are completely spiritual or changed or, but there's something to it you. You learn new stuff and you figure out that every single person on earth isn't like the people in your city and in your accountant That's amazing. You can bring some of that stuff with you home and enrich your life and make it better.

So I hope you can share with me your experiences. Please tell me where you have been or where you want to go. That will make me very happy.
